Activist from Guantánamo detained for 30 hours and threatened



In the morning, 8 September 2020, Bartolo Cantillo Romero was walking down the Avenue Street when he was suddenly detained and driven to the municipality of El Salvador where he was kept in detention for 30 hours. When in El Salvador, he was received by Major Sergio who threatened him with imprisonment and told him not to attend the Sunflower Revolution. The principle of this event was to gather people in parks in their places of residence and to bring a sunflower as a gesture of protest. The official also said that he personally would terminate with the counterrevolution in Guantánamo. Bartolo was released at 3 pm on the next day.
