Daudy Hermelo Lago was detained and threatened when she was trying to find out more about an activist who has disappeared

At 9 am, when she was attending a workshop for democracy and rights, the activist and human rights defender, Daudy Hermelo Lago, was detained. After staying at the house where the workshop was held until the early hours of the morning, she left and was detained by the State Security official Jorge and a policeman who carried out orders from the official and asked for the identity card of the defender and put her in a patrol car. Here, she was threatened to go home or she wouldn't be able to spend Mother's Day with her family. She said she would not go home until a human rights activist, who did not show up for the workshop and was now considered missing, showed up. After 20 minutes, they gave her back her ID and she was returned to the house. After this incident, she was persecuted and detained when she tried to meet with other human rights defenders to show the police unit what they knew about the human rights defender Rigoberto Gonzalez Vigoa, who was detained by State Security and was missing in the early hours of the same day. The defender was forced to get in a black car by the State Security officials and left outside of the municipality of Pinar del Río with the threat that if she returned, she would be taken to the station and processed for disobedience.
