Brutally beaten for defending his friend who was insulted by the PNR for his skin color

The 17-year-old Déxter Pérez Hijuelo was around the midnight at the streets of Holguin along with his five friends in order to return home. Demonstrating their immaturity, they were pushing each other, which caused that they beat a metal door without causing any damage. Immediately, they were intercepted by the officers of the nearby station of the National Revolutionary Police (PNR). Their names were Liuber Montes (No. 26904) and Julio César Rivas (No. 22063). They insulted one of the young men for his "black" skin color, then they searched him and threatened him with imposition of a fine. When his friend Dextér began to defend the victim and complain about the acts made by police, Julio César used strangulation and knocked Dexter down. When they handcuffed him, Liuber took the advantage and hit him in the face with his fist. He was taken to the station where he was fined 30 pesos and received an official warning. He stayed there until 3:30 a.m., when his parents came for him. Déxter's father told to Liuber that he would denounce his behavior at the Military Prosecutor's Office. The officer threatened him with accusing him of the crime of contempt of authority ("desacato").
