Activist detained and fined for honoring the Apostle

Eglits Guilarte Aranda was arrested on Sunday, January 28 at 2:20 p.m in Parque la Libertad (Park of Liberty), where he had arrived to pay tribute to the Apostle along with other members of the Party for Democracy of Pedro Luis Boitel Abraham. One of the political police officers said he had orders not to allow them to place the wreath. Eglits was transferred to the police station in patrol car number 832. During the detention, the arrest record was not lifted, as established by the Law of Criminal Procedure. Before being released, the policeman with identification 30963 imposed a fine for the value of 150 pesos of national currency (4.6 euro) for violating the police order.
