Lady in White detained and driven outside the city

On March 12, 2016, an activist María Luisa Chacón Lamoth was going to attend Mass in the Santuario del Cobre in Santiago de Cuba province. The Mass was carried out to demand the release of political prisoners and the end of police repression. She was detained in Camilo Cienfuegos Avenue by State Security officials Alex and Alayo. She was taken to the State Security and later police put her in the bus. There were several officials who were recording the detainees. María was released at 10:40 am in Yaterita, a municipality 42 km away from Guantánamo. It was denounced on Radio Martí and in the Associated Press (AP).
