Activist detained by the State Secuirty while heading to the capital



On 18 October 2019, at 7 am, when Dagoberto Valdés Hernández, a human rights defender and a representative of the Coexistence Study Center (CEC), was heading to Havana, he was detained in the junction of Los Palacios, in the Pinar del Río Province. He was taken out of the taxi he was traveling in to Havana and his cell phone and ID were confiscated by the police. Then he was driven to the police station in the municipality of Los Palacios and from there, he was automatically taken to his house in Pinar del Río. This action was carried out by the State Security official, Major known as Joaquín and had psychological consequences for the family Valdés Hernández as all the relatives were worried when Dagoberto disappeared for more than three hours.
