Felipe Blanco Gonzalez was going to participate in Mass carried out in the Santuario del Cobre in Santiago de Cuba and in following protest march demanding the release of political prisoners and the end of political repression in Cuba. At 7:50 am, he was detained by police officers and State Security officials Major Bryan, Kevin, Sergio and El Chino. He was put to the patrol car and driven to the Police Department in Niceto Pérez along with other two activists.
He was threatened with imprisonment if he continued his activities against Revolution. He was released several hours later.
