A man from Baracoa threatened by police and the CDR after giving a testimony to journalists

On 16 March 2021, Elioser Guilarte Cardoza was visited by police along with a house inspector and the chief of the local Committees for the Defense of the Revolution (CDR). The goal was to prevent Elioser from providing testimony and expressing criticism to independent journalists about his critical living conditions and state inaction. The visit left a clear message that if Elioser kept providing testimonies about his abandoned situation or any related topic, he would even make his living conditions worse as his checkbook would be withdrawn.
