A woman from Baracoa mistreated and threatened by police and the CDR after giving a testimony to independent journalists

On 16 March 2021, Lesvia Romero Londres was visited by police along with a house inspector and the chief of the local Committees for the Defense of the Revolution (CDR). The goal was to prevent Lesvia from providing testimony and expressing criticism to independent journalists about her critical living conditions and a related state inaction. Lesvia was mistreated and threatened by sector police chief Clape. This official threatened her that by doing that, she would make her situation even worse. Moreover, it would delay a protentional conditional release for her son who is currently imprisoned, but is already entitled to get a conditional release as one third of the sentence has been served.
