Marelis belongs to the Ladies in White who attend Mass in Santa Rita de Ricci Church every Sunday. On February 14, she pretended to go to Mass as usual and when she left her house, she was detained by State Security officials. They took her to the detention center where she was kept until the Mass finished. She was released three hours later.
