Lady in White beaten and detained in hot conditions without water for 34 hours



Rosa Escalona Gómez, a representative of the women's organization, Ladies in White, was detained during a police operation which stopped various human rights activists from attending Sunday Mass.The operation began at 6 am and they also detained a child and the photographer for the organization. "First, they took us to the police unit, where they left my son and another activist and then I was taken to the criminal investigation unit, where I was beaten and kept in a dark cell, without water and in very hot conditions, where I stayed until 4 pm of the following day for a total detention of 34 hours."
