An activist from UNPACU detained by State Security and PNR when he was about to apply for a job in the Ministry of Labor

On 17 March 2021, the State Security represented by Major Marlon Gómez Cardona and the National Revolutionary Police (PNR) represented by Guillermo Díaz Rivas, prevented an activist from the Cuban Patriotic Union (UNPACU), Arnaldo Nicó Roche, from submitting a job application in the Ministry of Labor in the municipality of Moa. When the activist was about to hand over all the necessary documents, he was detained by the above-mentioned officials and driven to the PNR station. The pretext for the detention was a claim that the activist had not paid a fine which he had received for allegedly being responsible for anti-government posters spread in public places of the city. The activist was detained for more than 6 hours and then released.
