A man from Guantánamo detained and threatened for expressing his opinion on the situation in Cuba



Robert Savon Rodríguez was detained by sector police chief, Lieutenant Odelin Aranda from the Zone Center, along with officials from the Ministry of the Interior (MININT). After that he was driven to the police unit called Parque 24 where he was threatened for an alleged crime of defamation against the regime. Savon Rodríguez had been expressing his opinion on the situation in the country, especially the pandemic, significant salary cuts and high prices of essential goods. He was warned by the officials that if he continued in the same way, he would be prosecuted for a crime of disobedience. He was released on the same day after 9 hours in detention.
