Man from Guantánamo detained and threatened by police and MININT



Rafael Álvarez López was detained by police chief in the Zone Center in Guantánamo, along with officials from the Ministry of the Interior (MININT). After that he was driven to police unit called Parque 24. There he was threatened due to an alleged crime of hoarding the products of basic necessity. Álvarez López explained them that he had been buying those goods for his family so they had not been in the streets during pandemic. The police chief verbally offended him, saying that he was a criminal and was involved in illegal trade. Then he was warned and fined 200 pesos. He was released on the same day six and half hours later.
