A person deprived of liberty suffers reprisals and is punished for manifesting against Fidel Castro.

"On August 13 (Fidel Castro's birthday), Yasser Rodriguez, who is a person deprived of his liberty, manifested his opposition against the late dictator. Some guards and collaborating prisoners took reprisals against his actions, for example: they hit the bars of the dungeon, shouted totalitarian slogans and covered his entrance with the Cuban flag. In response, Yasser went on hunger strike, and because of this, he was isolated in the punishment cell and was stripped of his hygiene items and other supplies sent to him by his family"
