A journalist from Pinar del Río summoned and threatened by police due to her article about health care system



Yusleidy Romero Becerra is a journalist and the director of the Community Communication Medium “Panorama Pinareño” of the Cuban Institute for Freedom of Expression and Press (ICLEP). She was summoned to the provincial unit of the National Revolutionary Police in Pinar del Río. During the interrogation, she was threatened due to the photos she had published, illustrating the situation in hospitals in the province. The officials demonstrated their dissatisfaction with the publication which was describing the collapsing health care system in the province as the COVID-19 cases are increasing.
