Activists became victims of provocation of State Security collaborator



At 11:30 am, Yamilka Abascal Sánchez, a human rights defensor and a member of the United Anti-Totalitarian Forum (FANTU) was on her way to Pinar del Río to accompany her husband José Rolando Casare Soto who was going to attend a Leadership and Governance training at the Florida International University. When they were waiting for a car in the Central Park, a State Security collaborator appeared in front of them, hit José Rolando to the face and provoked a fight. Police and State Security officials immediately arrived at the place and Yamilka and her husband were taken to the police station in San Juan y Martínez. The police accused Yamilka´s husband of assault on a policeman and started prosecuting him.
