Yaritza pretended to go to the city of Guantánamo to attend Mass in the Santa Rita de Ricci Church, as Ladies in White do every Sunday. When she was going through the checkpoint in Caimanera, police officers detained her and took her to the police station. She was kept there until the Mass finished and at 8:30 am released.
