Activist detained after having attended Mass



Maria Luisa Chacón Lamoth is a human rights defender and a member of the Ladies in White. That day, she participated in Mass, which takes place every Sunday in the morning. On her way home, she was detained by State Security official Major Cantillo and political police officer Captain Sergio. She was taken to the detention center known as Parque 24. There, she was interrogated by Cantillo and threatened, that if she continued going to Mass, she would be prosecuted for disobedience. She was released the same day at 12 pm.
