The victim was on the way to the UNPACU Headquarters in Santiago de Cuba, when the bus, he was sitting in, was stopped by police. There is a special point on this road, where political police officers are usually waiting to stop the buses and thus prevent activists from going to other cities – for example to attend Mass or meeting in their organization. While he was being taken by from the bus, the officers insulted him verbally. Then he was driven to the National Revolutionary Police of Julio Antonio Mella. He was fined 30 pesos (of so called “moneda nacional”) and given an official warning. Moreover, he was threatened with imprisonment by major Dáiron, who told him that in case he wanted to leave his house, he would need a special permission from them. He was kept under detention for 6 hours and then released.
