Spouses with disabilities were deprived of their assistance checkbook

Social worker Odelguis Domínguez Nieves went to Rafael Enrique Cruz Marrero's home to request that his wife Lisbania Zaragoza Fabre hand her a checkbook for $140 Cuban pesos (€4.5) that the State had given her for being in a situation of disability. Mr. Cruz is also in a disability situation, and has a checkbook of $280 Cuban pesos (€9), which his mother left behind when she died. Because of his disability, these people cannot work and are living in a house that is uninhabitable. The state has not provided them with any assistance, but they did make sure to take her checkbook.
