Activist from Cárdenas harassed by police due to his membership in opposition party

On Tuesday, 29 December 2020, at about 12 pm, Adrián Cao Tejera was approached by two officials in blue uniforms when he was selling vegetables on the market. He was driven to the police station in the city of Cárdenas. Before being released, he was fined 2000 CUP and the officials confiscated him all the goods he was selling. Cao Tejera is a member of one of the opposition parties. For that reason, political police do not want to provide him with a vendor license, labelling him as an anti-Castro activist which is in violation of the law. He was released 1:30 pm on the same day.
