Youth Representative of the Free Yoruba Association of Cuba was beaten by several officers, robbed, fined and threatened with being run over one day.

On Friday, March 5, 2021, around 5 p.m., Dairon Diosiris Hernández Pérez was returning from a religious activity and was on his way to buy some religious articles when he was intercepted at the corner of his house (West 6th Street in the municipality of Placetas) by a strong operation of combined forces of the Political Police and the Rapid Response brigades. Members of these forces together with an officer of the State Security, named Erick, beat him up and stole the young man's cash. Dairon went with his father to the Police Unit of the town to denounce the events that had occurred, when they arrived at the place they were received by officer Erick, who assaulted him, and indicated that he would receive them another day because he did not want to talk to them. On Saturday, March 6, 2021, they went again to the unit, and after more than three hours of waiting, the officer of the Political Police named Héctor de la Fe Freire came out and took them to a separate office and fined them 30 CUP (1.14 €). Dairon was threatened by this officer with imprisonment for social dangerousness index for pre-criminal behavior. In addition, he was warned that he would be under constant surveillance by the police from that moment on, who did not want to see him associated with people in opposition to the government. Hernandez works as a Youth Representative, so he was warned to be careful, since lately there have been many accidents and a car could run over him in the street.
