Political police officers and Chief of Confrontation Major Alfredo Oliveros, Captain Midelsi Duran Campo and Sector Chief Gianny Clape Rodriguez showed up at the headquarters of the Cuban Patriotic Union (UNPACU) cell in Guantanamo. The reason for the visit of the officers was to threaten the activist Keyber Rodríguez Fernández with imprisonment and not to let his daughter leave the country if he dared to leave the municipality or to distribute some kind of printed matter in the streets that would talk about the freedom of UNPACU leader José Daniel Ferrer García. Officials warned him that they would not believe that he had had two strokes, according to this officer the prisons were full of prisoners with disability problems. The activist's home was under surveillance all day and night by agents of the Department of State Security (DSE) and the National Revolutionary Police (PNR), and by informants who often passed in front of the activist's house, who also asked neighbors if he had left his home in any other way.
