A meeting ends with detention and a high fine

Leticia Ramos Herreria, representative of the Ladies in White movement in Matanzas, held a meeting in the Colon municipality on April 13th. Once the meeting ended, the 832-patrol intercepted and detained her. She was transferred to a police station where they tried to take away her belongings like her phone and 50 CUCs (42.50 euros), but Leticia got rid of them before they could take them from her. Jaime Lopez, an official from the Political Police, told her that he never wanted to see her again in Colon and fined her 2000 CUP (80 euros) before releasing her.
