Woman detained after security agents confiscated anti-revolutionary electronics after her apartment was raided



On April 14th, members of the Revolutionary National Police and State Security agents raided the house of Rosaida Gonzalez Escalona located in Cacocum. Top official Dixan from the Politic Police, major Espinosa and the top official from Holguín were also present with a warrant for the raid and watched as police raided her house and her closets. They confiscated her cell phone, 3 flash drives, 2 micro SD cards, personal documents and her work plans as an observer for human rights. They also confiscated 131 CUC (112€) from her. She was then taken to a center in Pedernales where she was held until April 17th. Once she was released, she asked for her belongings, authorities told her that her items would not be returned until an investigation was completed. Any item destined for anti-revolutionary causes would be confiscated.
