Human rights defender prevented from participating in a training in Spain

At 8:30 pm, at the Jose Marti International Airport Terminal 3, an independent lawyer Jose Ernesto Morales Estrada was prevented from leaving the country, when he was on his way to attend a human rights training in Spain. After the check in, he received his tickets with Air Europa and was heading to the border check, desk no. 14, when he was detained by an official on duty. He asked Morales Estrada to accompany him to the Immigration Office. When arrived, an official started with interrogation, asking the human rights defender his name and surname, identity number, his address and his job in Cuba and what is the purpose of the journey. The official noted down all his answers and then he was browsing in his computer for some time. After that, he calmly annouced him that he could not travel to Spain for the same reason as the last time, when he was prevented from traveling. Finally, the official told him that it is his right to appeal at the Immigration Office.
