Ramón Roque Hernández intended to emigrate from the country to the United States to improve his quality of life and his economic situation. However, Ramón was detained by the State Security and sancioned to 8 years of imprisonment for trying to emigrate. In prison, he has suffered cruel and inhumane treatment. On various occasions, he was not allowed to communicate with others because he had tried to inform human rights defenders of his situation. His family is very worried.
