Human rights activist banned from participating in the OAS General Assembly

On Monday, 24 June 2019, the human rights defensor and national coordinator of the Citizens Committee for Racial Integration, Juan Antonio Madrazo Luna, was invited to participate in the 49th General Assembly of the Organization of American States (OAS). To get there, he was supposed to take a plane to Medellín, Colombia on that day. However, the day before, on 23 June in the morning, two State Security agents appeared in front of his house and told him, that there is no need to put effort into going to the airport since he would not be allowed to leave the country.
