A human rights activist from the Cuban Patriotic Union (UNPACU), Leyanis Heredia Salazar, was violently detained by several policemen on the street when she was on her way home along with other activists. She was beaten up by the officials and taken to the 3rd Police Unit in the municipality of Camagüey. There, she was interrogated by State Security agents known as Frank and Michael. They threatened her with a trial for an alleged assault. The officials released her on the next day at about 3 am and imposed on her a preventive measure of house arrest for the above-mentioned crime.
