A human rights activist from Camagüey beaten up by police and detained



A reporter from the Palenque Vision Project, Yadisley Rodríguez Ramírez, was violently detained by several policemen on the street when she was on her way home along with other activists and two of her daughters. She was beaten up and taken to the 3rd Police Unit in the municipality of Camagüey. There, she was interrogated by State Security agents known as Frank and Michael. They threatened her with a trial for an alleged assault. She was released on the next day at about 3 am, with a precautionary measure of house arrest for the above-mentioned crime.
