Reporter from Banes detained and accused of leading a strike

On 7 December 2018, William Tamayo Ramayo was detained because he was held responsible for leading a strike of a group of freelancers working in the sector of animal-powered transportation, known as "cocheros". About 43 of them carried out the strike in order to improve their working contracts, namely they demanded a posibility to keep their license which allows them to have a contract for a cargo transportation with state-owned enterprises. However, the authorities would like to cancel their cargo license and leave them only the one for the personal transportation. William was released at about 6 pm on the same day with a threat that this could cause him serious troubles.
