Activist from Camajuaní summoned by State Security and detained for 24 hours

On 5 August, 2020, at about 3 pm, an activist from the Cuban Reflection Movement (MCR), Orlando Triana González, was summoned by a State Security official, known as Captain Hugo, to the National Revolutionary Police unit in Camajuaní. Initially, the officials accused Triana González of breaking down a public phone as an act of sabotage, but this claim was promptly refuted. Then, a municipal delegate of the Ministry of the Interior (MININT), Lieutenant Colonel Francisco Daria, told him to go. However, a State Security official know as Pepito stopped him and made an additional phone call to his superiors. Based on that, Triana González was put in a prison cell for 24 hours. After that period he was released, without having received any formal excuse.
