Man detained at the Guantanamo airport and beaten

When Rafael Lorenzo Jiménez González was getting off the plane heading from Havana to Guantanamo, he was detained by State Security official Captain Limonta Gutierrez for a regular check. When Rafael asked for the reason, he was told that he will be explained later. The officials searched his belongings and confiscated him two cell phones and a tablet he was carrying as a present for his nephews, 30 pounds of potatos and eight pounds of kidney beans. When he protested, he was handcuffed by using a paralysing technique. The officials caused him injuries on his hands and on his right eye. Then he was put in the patrol car no. 621 and taken to the police unit known as Parque 24. There, he was accused of public disorder since he expressed himself against the regime. He was detained for 24 hours. Before being released, he was fined and given an official warning.
