A man detained and fined for an alleged illegal departure from the country (a case of Amauris Cañisares Rodríguez)



Amauris Cañisares Rodríguez was arrested on 10.14.2015 at 8:00 am for an alleged illegal departure from the country. Amauris was travelling with his wife and a friend from childhood to the city of Baracoa to visit his relatives. He was arbitrarily arrested in road checkpoint roundabout Baracoa, for alleged illegal departure from the country by the Guantanamo naval base. Cañisares tried to talk to the commanding officer. He received only insult. Amauris told them he did not commit any crime that he is only a worker. According to him, it is posible to see again that man has no defense in this society where the rights are violated. He was detained for 72 hours and released with a fine of 3,000 pesos and a warning letter.
