Independent lawyer prevented from taking part in a training in Buenos Aires

On Sunday, 14 July 2019, Madelyn Rodríguez Martín, an independent lawyer from the Pinar del Río Province, went to the José Martí International Airport in order to board her flight to Buenos Aires, Argentina where she was supposed to participate in a training organized by the Center for Opening and Development in Latin America (CADAL). When she approached the migration office at the airport, she was not allowed to proceed to boarding. The officers did not know the reason for the ban as they are "only an executing body".
