Lady in White prevented from participating in Mass and detained for two days



Lourdes Esquivel Vieyto was detained on Sunday at 7 am when she was leaving her house in order to attend Mass and to pray for the release of political prisoners. She was put in a patrol car and driven to the police station in Santiago de las Vegas. When arrived, the officers parked the car in the sun and left her inside for 8 hours. Later on, she was taken to the police unit in Guanabacoa. She was fined 150 pesos in CUP for alleged "public scandal" and "violation of security cordon". She was released on the next day at 6 pm.
