Human rights activist prevented from participating in Mass in Guantánamo Cathedral



Francisco Osoria Claro, a human rights defender and a collaborator of the Ladies in White, was about to join Sunday Mass carried out in the Santa Catalina de Ricci Cathedral in Guantánamo. When he was going through the Los Maceos and El 3 Sur Streets, he was stopped by a State Security official known as Sergio along with three policemen who did not identify themselves. They detained him and drove him to the Operations Unit. Francisco was kept there until 10 am and then released.
