Activist beaten up for participating in Orgullo Gay Parade

Oscar Casanella, along with his wife and son, was participating in the Orgullo Gay March, supporting this community by joing the parade in Prado del la Capital Street. When they were approaching the end of the street, they were stopped by the people dressed in civil clothes who told them that they were not allowed to continue in the parade towards the zone of Malecón and San Lazaro. Casanella and other activists explained that it was their right to continue. This triggered Casanella's detention which was done by force and caused him wounds and bruises. He was separated from the rest of the group and beaten up. Then he was driven to the police station where he was kept for approximately six hours.
