Activist detained in order to prevent him from participating in a meeting



Ariel Lázaro Padrón López was detained in order to prevent him from attending a meeting with regime opponents in the municipality of Colón on Saturday 1 June. A Secret police officer prevented him from getting there and detained him. Then he was put in a patrol car and driven to the police station. When they arrived, he was put in a prison cell without being allowed to make a phone call as stipulated by the Criminal Procedure Law, article 244. He was released at 4 pm.
