Activist from Pinar del Río banned from leaving Cuba

On Sunday, 14 July 2019, a human rights activist and a provincial delagate of the Independent and Democratic Cuba (CID) in Villa Clara, Carlos Raimundo Rodríguez Becerra, was supposed to travel to Buenos Aires, Argentina, and participate in a training organized by the Center for Opening and Development in Latin America (CADAL). However, the authorities did not allow it. When he approched the migration office at the José Martí International Airport, he was prohibited from leaving the country without any explanation, violating though a basic right of any citizen to leave and return to his or her country.
