On June 19, 2020 in the afternoon, the activists of the Olegario Charlot Spileta Command, Anairis and Adairis Miranda Leyva, were threatened to be killed by David and Ronald, as they were standing in the queue at the “La Roxy” bakery, located on Coliseo street between Miró and Morales Lemus street in Holguín. The first of them broke a bottle and brandishing it threatened them and made a cutthroat sign, and the second held up a tube defiantly. The political police offered protection to both of them, as they deployed patrols 496 and 470, the DICO 733 operational car, the Red Berets, and other members of the rapid response groups. In the early morning of 18 June 2020, the executors of the dirty work together with Joel had beaten the victims and their families, and were intimidating them with sticks and pipes.
All the demonstration of muscle and threats made by the regime is carried out because the activists take advantage of the long queues they have to make daily waiting for the rationed food to speak to others about their ideals of justice and democracy for Cuba, but the regime supporters are left without arguments, so that they have to apply force to prevent the activist from gaining influence and their convening power from growing.
