Human rights activist prevented from travelling to Colombia



On Saturday 22 June, 2019, Aimara Peña González was about to travel to Colombia in order to participate in the 49th General Assembly of the Organization of American States (OAS). Aimara was invited by the Bitácora magazine of the University of Medellín and the Alliance for Freedom of Expression and Information. When she approached the migration officers at the José Martí International Airport, she was prevented from leaving the country. The officers only told her, that her status was regulated and she was banned to leave the country.
