At 9:30, a human rights defensor Daudy Hermelo Lago was going to give out the bulletin The New Republic (La Nueva República - LNR) in Pinar del Río. She met with Lázaro Luis Ruiz Echevarría, activist working on advocacy projects. As soon as they get together, they were both detained by State security officials, instructed by Captain Juan Pérez and Lieutenant colonel Iván Blanco. The officials put them into the car and drove them to the police station. The bulletins were confiscated and never returned. Moreover, Daudy was threatened that if she continued distributing the bulletin, she and her family would suffer the consequences. After that, she was given an official warning for distributing subversive propaganda and after four hours released.
