An activist from Guantánamo detained and threatened by State Security due to his contact with regime opponents



In the morning 20 February 2021, Yoandry Matos Guindo, an activist from the Cuban Patriotic Union (UNPACU), was driving his horse carriage through the Los Maceos Street and La Avenida in Guantánamo. Suddenly, he was detained and taken to the police unit. There he was received by State Security official Lionis who threatened him with confiscation of his horse and carriage if he kept visiting counterrevolutionary activists and using the carriage for activities like this. Moreover, he was fined 30 pesos for an alleged disturbance of public order.
