On the 11th of August, Raul Martinez Caraballo was sitting at the Héctor Infante stop waiting with Yoanni Beltrán Gamboa for a transport to Guantánamo when the head official Edi and the State Security official known as Antoni came and detained them. They were led to the Manuel Tames National Revolutionary Police unit, where Antoni interrogated Raul asking him what he was planning with Yoanni. Subsequent threats made him so afraid that he was later barely able to leave his house. The officers told him that on the 13the of August they were going to celebrate Fidel Castro's birthday and if he went out into the streets they would take him to the prison. Raul replied that he did not have to give them any information about his plans, not now nor ever, because, in the first place, it is disrespectful that they offended in such a way. Consequently, the officer became angry, offended Raul verbally and locked him up in the jail. Raul was released few hours later the same day.
