Isael was arrested at the shopping center in the Caribbean neighborhood by the Department of State Security (DSE) officers known as Leonis, Kevin or Edwin Jefferson, Victor Victor, Luis Angel and Roberto along with two other unidentified police officers. The arrest occurred when the activist tried to paste images of the national hero José Martí with his phrases, as part of the call made by the unitary platform "Democratic Commitment" to participate in Marti's "Marti's Revolution Yes, Socialist Revolution No", campaign which consisted of bringing Marti's thought to the streets of Cuba. He was transferred to the police station known as Parque 24. There, Lieutenant Lazara Leyva issued him a warning, which he didn't signed, for hanging out with the "anti-social people" of Niober García Fournier and Yaremis Buqueriget Socias and for "extreme laziness". He was also fined 30 pesos (.96 EUR) for the alleged crime of disturbing the peace. However, because since he did not sign the document, they dind't give the document with the fine. Officer Lazara gave him a cookie (slap) on the neck and was released around 6 p.m. after having his cell phone confiscated.
