In the early morning of August 3, 2014, 1st Lieutenant Rolando Olivares Carrión of the National Revolutionary Police (PNR) carried out a home search on the 29-year-old citizen Franklin Cano Azahares in Guantánamo province. This was carried out on suspicion of hoarding products in order to resell them at higher prices. Azahares, a self-employed worker, was arrested after the raid where no search warrant was shown to him, then he was transferred to the PNR unit. During his arrest, Franklin Cano Azahares was the victim of several night interrogations conducted by the 1st Lieutenant Rolando Olivares Carrión despite not having found anything compromising in Azahares' home. On August 5 of the same year, Franklin Cano Azahares was released with a fine of 50 CUP.
