An activist from UNPACU intimidated and forced to collaborate with State Security

Rolando Mesa Benítez, an activist from the Cuban Patriotic Union (UNPACU), was summoned to the police unit known as Parque 24 in the morning on 4 September 2020. When he got there, he was received by State Security official Víctor who told him that this is the last occasion they see each other since Rolando will be soon put in prison for meeting with other activists such as Bartolo Cantillo Romero and Henry Couto Guzmán. According to the official, both mentioned activists are at the service of imperialists and José Daniel Ferrer García from UNPACU. "However, you could avoid the imprisonment and if you declared that you were paid by them in order to sabotage the Revolution, we would let you be." This proposal was immediately refused by the victim. "Well, then you expect a surprise tomorrow", concluded official Víctor.
