In the afternoon, 24 July 2020, an activist Alexey Brizo la Hera, having left the provincial headquarters of the Cuban Patriotic Union (UNPACU) in Guantánamo, was passing through the Pedro A. Pérez and 2 Sur Streets. Suddenly, a white car stopped next to him and several State Security officials got off the car. They put a hood over his head and kidnapped him. On the halfway, oficial Lionis and his colleagues whom the victim did not know, told Alexey that he will be soon "kicked off the car". In total, the victim was taken more than 15 km away from the city. Before leaving, the officials stole his money and all his personal belongings, clothes included. When they left, they threw Alexey's clothes on the road one kilometer away from the place they left him.
